Okay folks. Let's do 2nd weekend in October 12, 13, 14 at Turnipseed.

I'll try to make both nights this time.

Hang in the campground, or on the creek on the trail leading up to the Pinhoti?

Creekside is free, campground will cost a couple of bucks, but you can park your car within a few feet of your chosen hanging spot.

Sounds like a plan to me, let's do it. October 12-14 @ Turnipseed. The campground makes it easier for people to bring stuff to try out if they want and just car camp. But we can always walk back to the creek and camp if people want to do that instead.

For those who might not have been there before, Turnipseed is in the Talladega national forest, just south of the main Cheaha State Park entrance. There is a parking lot on the road, and Google maps has the coordinates as (33.444284,-85.841509). About 100 or so yards down the road from the parking lot is the driveway into the Turnipseed campground (33.442037,-85.843365). If you can't find it, go to the Cheaha State park office and they can tell you where it is I am sure.

The roadside parking lot is easy to find. I've not seen the drive in to the campsite road, but then again I've not really looked for it.

My spousal unit and I are interested if we can make the dates work. Sounds like fun!

GREAT! I should be in for the saturday. That's the only night we can come. (Me & my husband)
We can get up there by about 6pm I reckon. Shame not for longer, but that's how it crumbles sometimes.

Looks like we have maybe 8 people going to make? Thought I would bump the thread in case there might be others that had missed this. Looking forward to some time in the woods...I need a break for sure.

I'm out for this one. I have to work. So sad about this! I hope it's a blast. I'll make it to a hang ASAP. I'd love to meet some local hangers.
