    So I did this over the weekend - hung my hammock and my wife's (since she was ground dwelling) under to hold my pad and give me extra warmth - it was 28F the first night.

    My feet got a little chilled but my butt didn't!

    I had no problems with tangles or my pad slipping. In short: it worked great.

    Here's one way to equally pull the 2 layers together.


    I colored the ropes separately to show the individual steps.
    The only additional step from chapinb's suggestion is to come back and loop through the opposite end (green). Both layers with equally cinch up.
