    My sons first night.

My youngest son, he's six, has been begging to spend a night in a hammock. Well tonight's the night. He says if he like it he wants his own. I hope he likes it. I would love to see another hammock hung at our camp. He already spends the night in the tent alone while my wife and I hang next to him. I will post a pic or two when he's ready to sleep. The boy is wired with excitement.
    Joe.

    hmm hammock commandment
    11. Thou shalt convert the ground dwellers.
-Talk as often as you can to anyone who will listen about how truly awesome the hammock experience is. And how it makes kids grow big and strong and the elderly feel 20 years younger. Its like the fountain of youth in the woods, just ask any convert how they feel in the morning when they awake.

    Should be fun.
I made my 2 youngest grandchildren hammocks a few weeks ago. They love them. Had to make them bug nets the next week and now my grandson has laid claim to my DIY 3/4 UQ. Sadly, I had to get a new full length from Hammock Gear.

The hammocks I made were from Walmart polyester shower curtains that are about 40"x84". All four sides were already hemmed and the top and bottom had channels pre-made. I just ran continuous loops through the ends and hung them from tie down straps.

There are some good color options. Grandson's is a stripe pattern with a tan bug net. Granddaughter's is pink & white taffeta with a white bug net.

Total cost was about $20 each for the hammocks and polyester bug nets made from window coverings from Wmt. Had some amsteel sitting around for the loops and I own a lot of the straps.
Love is blind. Marriage is an eye opener.

BH, they are made by ENO, and are exactly the same as the battery operated Christmas lights you can find at drug stores. These came with a case that we hang off the RL. Kind of pricey for what they are. If it weren't for the REI rewards money that I had I probably would have waited until Christmas time to get them. They give off enough light to read by.
