Down question

Ok dont laugh cause this might be a dumb question but could you take something like in this craigslist add and use it for making an UQ? i know how expensive down is how much would be in a twin mat like this?

Valid question and variations of it have been asked before.

All depends on how much feathers it contains. Many down comforters and pillows also contain feathers. So depending on how much down is acutally in the conforter and the grade down (550,650 ect), you might be able to get enough down. Chances are the seller will not be able to provide any information on the down/feather ratio or the grade of down.

I was helping my gf move to a new house and she had an old down comforter in her garage. I cut it open and the down quality literally looked like 700 or more and it was slightly grey like it was duck down. I went to Johanns and got some ripstop and made a see through uq. Minus my crappy sewing skills it worked well but it wasn't as pretty as all my hg and WL quilts. Every buddy always talks about hammock gear and warbonnet yetis but wilderness logics makes great stuff and they've been around way longer.
