Sorry that's short for WBBB or Warbonnet Blackbird. I recently got a used one here on the forums.

I believe the BB stands for "BlackBird" by Warbonnet. I am waiting for mine to get here. I was wondering if the 24" wide width would keep your shoulders warm? Maybe you can let me know when you try it out?

I've got pretty broad shoulders and mine come right to the edges. My top quilt cinches around them and keeps the sides warm if it's real cold.

I'm thinking about ordering another pad and taping together when it gets below freezing to make 1/4in. They come in some thick plastic sleeves. Don't throw away sleeve and it will protect the pad somewhat when you strap it on your pack.

    I'd be interested in a 1/4" too.

well , I ordered a 1/8 pad and a few little extras from lawson on the 2nd of sept. Still have not received anything in the mail. Nor any replies to my emails. was not sent any tracking info either. I do not mind waiting, but one month for something that was in stock seems a little long for me....

Have now been contacted by Lawson, and the explanation of the issue and his offers of solutions were nice to see. Still hoping to get that apparently dangerous pad across the border

Thanks gmcttr, I see that now they stock several sizes: 1/8, 1/4, 1/2 @ 24" x 72" and also a wide pad 1/8 x 48" x 72". Can I get some help on deciding which one is right for me? My questions are:
    1. How low on average will the 1/8" thick pad take you, using a 20 bag, with nothing extra as compared to the 1/4"? I'm in Nor. Calif. summer and fall only, no (BURRR!) snow.
    2. How would the 24" wide compare to the 48" wide, do you need that extra width?
    3. Would you pick the 1/8 x 48" or the 1/4" x 24"?

Thanks for your advice to a first time beginner.
    Ivan
