I've used my 5.0 Climashield UQ down to about 38 degrees so far, wearing a fleece top and long underwear bottoms to sleep in. Not sure it would go a whole lot lower than that...maybe low 30's.
I used a size 10 sharps needle and gutermann sew-all thread (tex 30) that I bought from Jo-ann's Fabric store. The main thing is to use polyester thread, not cotton. You don't need heavy duty thread for a quilt. It doesn't get near the stress on the seams like a hammock, tarp or backpack.

It's also worth noting that the Arrowhead quilts are not APEX; they're a different flavor of Climashield
These days he only offers APEX

All KAQ's are made with APEX Climashield™ Synthetic insulation

Correct. However, at the time I wrote that, the stock KAQ line was not APEX. Instead, APEX was offered as an upgrade. Since then, it's changed.

Like that inside out method. Much easier than what I did a few weeks ago.

Have two more to make with extra Climashield that Thru Hiker sent. They will be a Jarbridge knock-off and an UL, both in 1 ounce pure MARPAT ripstop.

I'll just use the basic dimensions and components. Happened to have that much material on hand from other projects. Waste not want not, eh?

Does anyone have a good right up on the suspension part of the UQ?

Dutch sells a 25' hank of shock cord, which is just enough for a typical UQ suspension.

The last one I made features the tag end of a cord passing through loops tied in the suspension at three locations: lengthwise through carabineers of the hammock suspension, and at head and foot over the SRL. It worked fine on my hang last weekend in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, two nights in windy conditions.

I would be carefull using pure finish ripstop. I tried that once with an Apex UQ and the slightest breeze would blow the heat right out of it. It felt like a constant and distracting cooling and re-heating
