Knocked out a Climashield UQ last night

I've had a sewing machine for about 2 weeks and I just made an UQ using 5oz Climashield Apex. Thanks to a lot of pics, suggestions, etc on this forum I was able to knock this out with no problems at all.

    Materials...
    2 yards climashield
    4 yards 1.1oz ripstop
4 strips of black ripstop for the channels
    shock cord
    cord locks

I did the "inside-out" method which gave me nice edges... just had to stitch up the foot area where I flipped it right-side-out.

Finished size is about 72" long and 55" wide.

Nice job. What does it weigh and about what did it cost?

    4 yards 1.1 ripstop = $16
    2 yards Climashield Apex = $32
    25 feet shock cord = $6
    Cord locks = $5

Considering shipping and the fact that I already had some black ripstop to use... let's call it $70 total.

    Haven't weighed it yet.

It was supposed to be brown, but with the fabric is translucent so it ended up being more of a golden color

Very nice job. On the fabric color surprise, I just did that to myself. I thought the fabric as to be a brownish gold color. It was that color when it is all nicely folded. When I layed the nylon out after cutting it, the color was bright yellow. Wow, I am going to need sun glass when I go to bed. Clear silnylon, bright yellow overcover. I am not going to be doing any stealth camping with this set-up.
