    Ladies Sub Forum?

I have been wondering if there can be a Ladies sub forum. I ask because I know there are issues that women encounter that a guy would not be so interested that us girls deal with each trip. From specific gear to best way to wee-wee in the woods.

Actually, how to wee in the woods was covered in the general forum. Don't think we need a special women's only forum.

I myself would prefer to not have a ladies section. I'd rather keep it as a hammock camping with no distinction for men and women. We cover male and female topics on this site and all join in, because we have husbands and wives and girlfriends and boyfriends, so everyone provides their own personal and knowledgable input.

ZQ here...there are fathers that take their daughters with them. They do benefit from discussions about female issues!

Fortunately...you have the internet between you for a more comfortable conversation...not face to face!

In addition, my fiancé never gets on forums but is interested in learning all of this. So I'm the one that has to teach her.

I see a female subforum as a quick, easy way for women to see what issues are being discussed on Hammock Forums for women and about women. Right now there is no easy way to do that once the threads get buried among the old threads. Right now you would have to search key words such as women, female, girls, etc. Even then you probably will miss some.

If it does happen, I see this kind of subforum being in the donating members section because IMO more of these issues deal with camping in general and not so much with hammocking.

And I don't see it as a subforum to keep men out. Lol, since when has that ever happened? In fact on most of the forums I have seen, more well meaning men post sometimes more than women. Like I said, it's simply a fast, easy way for women to see threads that deal specifically with women's issues.

I don't see how "female only" would be an enforceable requirement.

As a male, I think this would be a great idea. Might help me understand how to better make my wife more comfortable in the woods and address some of the concerns and needs she has in the woods and when back packing in general. Things that I would not think about. It would also show her that backpacking is just not for males but a large percentage of women hammock to. As long as it was open to all (male and female) and yes I'd agree with Happy Camper in the Members Donation Section I think some good discussions could be had in it. Just my 2 cents.
Sometimes I like to hike and think, And sometimes I just like to hike.

Hiking is'ent about waiting for the storm to pass its about learning to hike in the rain.

I don't think see it as a female only subforum so no enforcement needed!

It would definitely help new female members who are not aware of the old women's specific threads. Just recently someone posted --any women hangers here ??? because it really isn't all that apparent.

May help hold on to new female members or give them a reason to donate if such a forum was in the donating member section and was advertised in someway (which was also an idea in another thread -- advertising all the topics in the donating member section.)
