Anyone done any backpacking, Hanging in Norther Georgia?

May be an opportunity for me North of Atlanta Georgia; was curious if any of you have backpacked or been in that neck of the woods. The Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forest isn't too far north of where I'm talking about. Anyone?
    Thanks

Camped and fished much of that area for the last 40 years. Lots of good places to hang.

North Ga is my neck of the woods. There are beaucoup places to backpack and hang here. If you wanna be social you have the AT, Springer Mtn is the start(or end). If you want solitude there's the BMT. If you want tough there's the Duncan Ridge Trail. If you want lots of water there's the Jack's River Trail. And a ton of others as well. I'm headin out to your neck of the woods in the morning. Plan on doin an overnighter in Hercules Glade, unless you can recommend something else that's within an hour of Kimberling City....

I thru-hiked the Pinhoti Trail and paddled the whole length of the Coosa River... Does that count?

Thank you for all the replies!!! I'm looking at a job opportunity in Duluth, GA; figured i could live N, NE of their about 45 minutes to get myself and my family further into N. Georgia. I'm impression is it's nicer. it's a long shot if the job will work out but I do like to consider how it'll be to live in an area even If i do spend more time at work than at home

I always check on the cost of living, schools, gun regulations, outdoor activities and try to get a feel for how nice the people are.

    Thanks for the help!!

Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. Never been to the area you're going to be read a lot of it and it looks great. Only negative is the water will be low or dried up because of the drought but then i'm sure you know that! Enjoy Southern Missouri!
