The new BIAS NanoBuginator Prototype Bugnet

Before I take the kids off to college in the U-Haul, I wanted to mention that the Buttinasling boys sent me a couple of Buginator bugnets using nanoseeum, which results in a 21% decrease in weight, from 8.8 oz to 7 oz.

I took them on a trip with my sons to Lake Lila in the Adirondacks. The material feels absolutely luxurious, not rough at all. It's pretty strong too. Not only did it survive my son Rocco's abuse (he's ripped more than one bugnet), but it also survived a red squirrel who climbed into Rocco's bugnet but couldn't for the life of him figure out how to get out.

Rocco played it cool as the squirrel bounced around the bugnet, and assisted the critter in finding the exit. I was kinda surprised the bugnet survived a frantic red squirrel. I'm glad it didn't happen to me - I might have strangled the little fella and had fried squirrel and eggs for breakfast.

I gave my NanoBuginator a workout too. In my haste to pack everything, I forgot to douse the bugnet with permethrin. While no mosquitoes or flies got to me, it was an open invitation for daddy longlegs spiders to crawl in and sleep with me. When one (maybe two) went down the back of my neck, I went into full epileptic fit mode. Once the tickling stopped (probably thrashed them to death), I went right back to sleep.

This one's the same design as the original Buginator, but I hear they're in the lab trying to find ways to shave more weight without sacrificing functionality and 360 degree bugnet coverage.

Thanks for the prototypes, fellas. They're awesome.

Cool! It may take a few weeks more, but we're adding the nano-buginator to our repertoire. That would be a 7 oz. net with 360 degree coverage.

Glad to hear that the NanoBuginator survived its maiden outing despite the rigorous testing you put it through.

I've been looking to get a bug net made from nano and it looks like BIAS is going to make things very easy for me.

It's a bottom entry net. He hung it over his hammock and then crawled right in there after carrying that thing in his backpack... wait... you're not talking about SilvrSurfr, are you?

I don't know about daddy long legs, but I got up one night and climbed back in with an ant on me. In the dark, it grew to an 8# tarantula.

It was a big ant if that makes any difference.
    It'll be alright Friday!
