Hey guys and gals. I'm about to place an order at diygearsupply for my down TQ fabric, the 1.1 ripstop, and wanted to know if there was a particular side that should face the down, and if so, how do you tell which side?
Thanks in advance.

I believe you want the shiny side facing the down.

I couldn't tell which was shinier. I asked my 6 year old to pick a side and went with it
Many fabrics don't have a "side." However, there are some that do. If you can't tell, then it doesn't matter. Momentum 90 (M90) is an example where the sides are extremely different from each other.

Fold it over on itself and compare the 2. I had to do it that way to tell. There is a difference. But you wont notice it until you fold the fabric in half so both sides face you.
Thanks for the help.
For the ripstop I used from the same vendor, there was no visual difference, but one side had a slight grip/rubbery feel on my hands where the other side was a more slippery/smooth. The smooth side is your outside, the 'rubbery' side faces the down. Its possible there's no difference, but it worked for me!
What are the implications of guessing wrong? I could see a difference in the 2 sides, but I couldn't decide which was "shiny". This is on DIY Gear Supply 1.1 seconds. The olive.
I just sewed all the baffles on the side I guessed last night, and i don't have any plans to redo it. But there is still time to save the outer layer!
