Bridge owners that bought 2QZQ UQPs

We would like some feedback from you.

We have sold a few of our UQP's (underquilt protectors), designed for the gathered end hammocks, to bridge owners. We are getting more requests for a UPQ that would specifically fit a bridge hammock.

We are going to start making a UQP for a bridge, and want suggestions from you...what did you do to make it fit your bridge. What should we change, add, etc? We welcome (beg/plead) any suggestions!

    Thank you very much!

And I was one of them today... I've wanted one for my BMBH for a while now, just didn't like the Dri-Ducks poncho. I wanted that packable silnylon like my tarp.
Warbonnet's new release is what re-ignited my want for one.
This is what I had in mind, only to fit my BMBH...

We are working on a design that will be like our original. It won't come up on both ends like Brandon's. Not into duplicating Brandon's fine work! I don't think it will take much of a change...maybe just lengthening the shock cord at both ends so the fabric can spread out, and not gather as needed for the gathered end hammocks. It will cover and protect the UQ.

Anyone out there that uses our UQP on a bridge....shout us some feedback!

I understand. Made me think, I pulled out my Grand Trunk UL hammock, and it's the same measurments as your uqp, 106" long, and about 60" wide(), so I pulled out my hammock and strung uo the GT underneath and it actually fits quite nice. With my full length 20* uq on, the GT came about about halfway on both ends of my BMBH.
I'm thinking, keep the shock cord, but add loops to the corners to attach your hardware of choice(ie. hook, carabiner, etc.), that way, you could attach the corners to the corners of the hammock, yet still cinch to fit eaches hammock and quilt size. That way you can make just one uqp for all quilts, cinch tight for the gathered-end, loosen up and use corner loops for bridge style, best of both worlds...

We do have loops on the 4 corners for just as you suggested. Sounds like we could offer the original for use on a gathered end hammock, and one with extra long shock cord for use on both style hammocks??

One more thing....Fallkniven, you are saying that the UQP for a bridge doesn't need to be longer that our standard UQP? Are any bridge hammocks longer than the BMBH?

Well, the only other bridge's that I know of are homemade, except Brandon's, so it's hard to say. I doubt it though, atleast the majority of them.
I was playing with it more, and just clipping the corners on the GT makes the fabric sag far down alond the sides. So I clipped the fabric to the quilt suspension a few inches down the edge from the gathered-end, and it brought everything up. Maybe just having loops on the corners may not work, maybe adding a few loops down the first foot from the ends may work better...

On the BMBH Ul,,its 80 inches corner ring to corner ring..about 46 inches around bottom from corner ring to corner ring on the ends..and if you made it come up 12 more inches on the ends so water didn't spray at each end where a full quilt ends,,is the way I wanted to make something,,such as even taking 1.1 or Momentum 90MR which is breathable DWR finish,,60 inches wide would work as to allow for a 0 degree or 20 degree puffy quilt to fit under and be covered very nicely. I will order one right now! And still not listening any more to the wife..will get one for her GTSB pro. If your going to make one,,seriously,,I will order one as was going to DIY something out of something.

So Acer...what you are saying...make the bridge UPQ the same style as the original, but make it 24 " longer than the 80" length of the hammock? Would you be gathering the ends with the shock cord as in Fallkniven's picture? From his picture, it looks like there needs to be some sort of loop on the UQP at the four corners of the hammock. How would I know where to put them?
