    Hello from North Carolina

I have been lurking for a while and thanks to everyone for all the great information you share here. After lots of research I went ahead and and bought a Black Bird. Hung it in the woods in back of my house and now I'm hooked. Will probably start selling my tents and other gear to raise funds for an underquilt and hammock gear. I'm hoping for some cool weather soon so I can take the hammock backpacking.

welcome to the madness from down on the coast

lots of places to hang in your area and the BB is a great hammock. Hopefully you can make the Grayson Park Hang or the Hot Springs Hang. You will meet lots of hangers, see a bunch of different gear setups and have a good time.

Welcome to HF from Georgia! Sounds like you're off to a good start on your gear. Happy hanging.

Gunner, when is the Grayson park hang? Where can I get the details? I saw your picture at Pilot Mountain. You can see my house from the East side of the Jomeokee trail around the knob. I hike all the trails in the park, but never camp there because of the noise from route us 52.
