    Water proof or not??

I posted this in the fabrics section, but i am going to put it here also. I want breathable fabric(not water proof), but it seems that uncoated ripstop is more expensive.

Is there a way to use coated ripstop comfortably?

The coated nylon at DIYGear.com is about 20 cents cheaper per yard than the uncoated ripstop nylon, but it's also twice as heavy. The seconds are even cheaper and just as functional. Personally, I prefer using a breathable material against me and saving the coated stuff for weatherproofing.
