Hello All,
I have seen a few videos for cuben tarps (and other things made of cuben fiber also) and it seems to me that the fabric makes alot of noise or at least more so than some other fabrics. So I wanted to here from those who work with cuben fiber and have tarps and rain ponchos and bags and other gear made of cuben fiber.

After awhile, I've found mine is softer and more quiet than when I first bought it. Plus, since I can get a super tight pitch, it makes little noise in the wind. Rain on it sounds like rain on a tin roof.

I love the sound of the rain on my cuben tarp,,other than that noise,,you wouldn't even notice the difference between a cuben vs silnylon.

I don't think cuben is noisier than anything else. I love the sound of rain on my tarp; it makes me sleep very well.
At 6.5 oz., my HG CF 4S tarp could be playing Lady Gaga in a continuous loop and I wouldn't mind. Is Cuben Fiber loud? I think it's just a higher pitch than other tarps.
Yes, this is what I meant I guess when I was wondering if it was loud. When packing, unpacking the fabric if it was loud, not so much when it is fully deployed. And maybe loud is not the right word, but noisy. Seems pretty cool stuff, though.
