The kids are in school now (Yeah) so I have two new tarps, two TQ's to make and a 0* UQ along with some modifications, hammock stands and a better arrangement for my full time hanging (hard to reach the alarm).

"Step 1 - We admitted we were powerless over our addiction - that our hammock obsession had become unmanageable"

Define "unmanageable". I still have projects I need to do. I still have materials for said projects. I still have space to put said projects when complete.

I'm not an addict. I can stop any time I want, mainly because I'm having a hard time finding the time to do them. The list just gets longer.

Hi, I'm Mix. And, uhhm, I guess I am an addict too..
I've not been into hammocking for a full year yet, started with a Eureka Chrysalis and then things kind of snowballed.
A little background is needed to understand the width of this. I was part of a hiphop group here in Sweden, we never made it but we fought the good fight though. I then went on to produce my own music, managed to scrape together enough funds to buy all necessary equipment and off I went.
It was a rough ride and ended up being more of a personal vent than a business, and when I found hammocking this last fall it pretty much fell into oblivion.

So, last month I suddenly realized I hadn't made a single beat for almost 6 months. I made a decision and ripped out all studiostuff to make it my gearmaking studio instead!
You might understand the looks on my friends and former associates faces, when I announced I was stepping down in favor of my threadinjecting..

So far, I´ve made 3 UL hammocks, 3-4 hammockchairs, modified numerous hammocks adding bugnets and zippers, added panel tieouts to my tarp, an antislipcover for my pad, stuffbags, wintersock etc. etc.

So, here I am. I had a promising career, and gave it all away in favor of hammocking. If I wasn't having so much fun, and got so much use out of my addiction, I guess that could actually sting a little

    Cheers / Mix

[QUOTE=jordo_99;805304]I fell off the wagon only a month ago, making my first "beak tarp".
I've now added a hammock, bug net and an 8x10 flat tarp under my belt and starting a double walled tent after the weekend.

I think my girlfriend and roommates are going to have an intervention for me soon...

    Intervention is definitely needed!

I just pulled the trigger and bought all the materials for my silNylon tarp and bug net. That will allow me to completely replace my tent system with a hammock system. I can't wait to sew it up and get out for an overnight test trip.

I'm not addicted. I can quit any time I want to.

Just in the past month, 1.5 hammocks (I'm gonna re-do one), 2 bottom-entry bugnets, 2 sets of suspension (though I still need to play with toggles some more, cause they're cool), finalizing 2 tarp designs.

Bought a whole spool of Amsteel, hoping it will be enough...

I've enjoyed the hobby so much I'm tempted to try a backpack, even though I don't need a backpack. I could always try some light outdoor clothing, I suppose.
