Hammocking in Teton NP: From Cascade Canyon to Death Canyon

I'm working in the Grand Teton NP this summer and thus far had NOT had a chance to go backpacking, if you can believe that!! With only two weeks left before I leave I figured I'd better get going and do some of the canyons I had yet to hike.
So on my weekend I went on a 30 mile hike - all of my photos, etc. are on my blog. I have posted about 2 of the days so far and will blog about my last day hiking soon.

Absolutely amazing hike. I want to do it again, right now! If only I could...

Thanks for the report. Glad you got some time on your own away from work. looked like a good time.
Stoves- have you thought about having an alcohol stove as backup??. Their very light and fool proof, safe. Woodburners are also great stoves.

Hammocking, cold ravioli, experiencing mother natures varied moods,
glimpses of animals, ....sounds like a great wilderness adventure to me, through a very beautiful area.
Hope your next journey is just as interesting....enjoyed your post.
Mountain views are good for the soul....& getting to them is good for my waistline.

Nice trip report - I think the ravioli would have worn on me quickly.

I'm heading to the Tetons this weekend - a bit less hardcore as we're camping at Gros Ventre with friends.

Nice, Gros Ventre is a beautiful place to camp! You are coming at a good time, too, because the crowds are dispersing... If you have time do a canyon hike, Paintbrush is my favorite.... and if you're hungry and driving by Signal Mountain Lodge, come by and try our nachos. Inexpensive way to feed a couple or a crowd.

Ha ha, yeah I only had it for two nights, so I didn't get tired of it! It filled me up a lot which was great. Although I'm sure I could have been smarter and brought something that didn't weight as much.
