    taping two pads together

so i have an odd question, yesterday i bought 2 5mm thick ccf pads that has one reflective side i think one works grate but i get cold spots on my hips where the pad isient wide enough... instead of making a segmented pad extender (or what ever you want to call it) could i just cut the other one in half length wise then tape it on the sides of the other pad using like fiberglass tape

    thought??

    thanks,

I did something similar with Tyvek tape. Eventually, the tape weakens or loosens (even Tyvek), but then you tape it again.
