The Lawson was my first hammock, enjoy it . I used it for a few months at first it was ok on the 1st night but after 2 or 3 nights it got a little uncomfortable it was hard for me to lay on a diagonal, not that it was impossible it was just the side of the hammock was in my face the whole time putting pressure on my head. Im guessing the rods that run through the top doesn't allow for the hammock to flex very well when on the diagonal. Anyway that was just my experience . I hope you have better luck than i did. That being said i was not discouraged , I bought an ENO and haven't looked back.

I see you posted this in September how is it , have you experienced the same problems?
    Don't be scared ,it's just a beard.

I think the key to this hammock is tying out the sides. When that is done it doesn't fold and basically feels like a large cot. I doesn't feel like any other hammock I have (6). After the Dangerbird ill stop.
    I don't have a hammock problem. I can stop anytime I want.

Sorry to resurrect this old thread but I must...
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE MY BLUE RIDGE and feel like at this point I am pretty proficient in the set up and tricks and tips

Since this Hammock is more of a bridge style and flat I go with the Thermarest prolight and a $12 roll of reflectix from Home Depot... It's so warm I sometimes don't even need to get into the sleeping bag!

For those who don't know what reflectix is, it is this awesome insulation that is kind of like two pieces of mylar with some bubble wrap in between... It guarantees to reflect 97% of hot or cold temperature... Some nights I feel like I'm a cookie baking on a baking sheet.. Lol

Oh yeah, it's ultra ultra light!

Let's keep the Blue Ridge love going guys...
