Welcome from the Jersey Shore. You should attend the Fall MAHHA 2012, if you can. It will definitely accelerate your learning curve. You'll get to meet some of the HF legends, like me!

Seriously, though. It's a great opportunity to meet, not just fellow hangers, but vendors as well. Last year I met JacksRBetter, Hammock Gear, MacEntyre, 2QZQ, Dutch, and others I'm forgetting.
