    Momentum/Reflective DIY Hammock

After several trial attempts with cheaper materials, I have made a spreader bar hammock with a momentum body ( from tru-hiker.com )and solar reflective 1.3 nylon ( from seattlefabrics.com ) for a structural pad sleeve.profile1.jpg

Bugnets have proven difficult in the past. I am happy how this one turned out.netting_upper_h.jpgnetting_lower_hammock.jpgheadend_empty.jpg

Looks good!!! Fine workmanship. I'm still working out the bugs on my bridge hammock bug net, and may copy what I see here, if I may...

I've used momentum for several different things, but never a hammock body. Please post again later on, after a few hangs, and let us know how it holds up.

That is really a sweet bridge. Is the momentum the yellow? That bugnet really gives you some room in there.

Yes, Dutch, the yellow is the momentum.

About the bug net, notice the yellow fabric on the top of the hammock that the bugnet attaches to. A similar but shorter panel is sewn to the head end. The two purposes these serve are protection from the poles which pass over the ends, and potential additional weather protection (my current modified SpinnShelter seems adequate, but not overly long).

I will try to post a diagram of the bugnet in a few days. I've had the benefit of many failures which helped me get this one right.

Yeah, but the shiniest sides are actually on the inside.

This is obviously not my stealth model. I bought the momentum a long time ago when yellow was the only available color. The truth is though- I like it!

    My bad, Dude!

There is an eleven year old in the house, but she has not been clueing me in to the hip new lingo, thanks for that link. OK, it's all shiny! (I think I need to practice this one, it didn't seem quite natural when I tried it.) Thanks, Grizz.
