    New To The Forum...

    Hello Everyone,

Just joined the forum as I have just completed my first ever 3 nights in a hammock (DD Travel Hammock). Really enjoyed it, but found the DD to be a little bit restricting, short on space and had problems with condensation in the morning.

Have heard reports about the DD Travel version being very hot in the warmer months too. Needless to say, now I have the bug have put the hammock on ebay and am now looking to a Tenth Wonder Green Hornet. Ideally I would like to try the Warbonnet Blackbird, but I lack any funds.

Have been watching a lot of videos on Youtube (Especially Shug, who I think is brilliant...As I like watching clowns and jugglers too), but would appreciate any advice on chosing a hammock and tarp for that matter.

Anyway, I look forward to learning more about hammock camping from your forum posts.

    Regards,

    Mick

    Welcome from Florida.
Generally speaking large hammocks are more comfortable than small ones, especially in length. Personally, width isn't that important, although some like a wide hammock. But, there is broad acceptance of, more length = more comfort.

    I am 6'-1" (185cm) tall and like 11' (3.3m) by 54" (137cm) hammock.

Welcome, from Ohio. With everyone's needs, build, and weight being different, it's hard to say what would work better for you. Keep in mind that you do not need to spend a lot to be comfortable.
