first hang and hang`n out in Norway

Johnathon my name and well this was one of the best camping experiences i`ve had. i have been a ground dweller for a long time now, my friends and i take expeditions into the wilderness here and i have invested in some of the best gear you can get.. kinda need it for the extreme weather here in Norway, it gets cold , 4 season tent and thermal pads -25 sleeping bag and even a heating system, but i tell ya.. gonna sell it all...first time hammock camping and loved it Photo 0437.jpg

Photo 0436.jpg should be pictures here... need i say more!!!!!. this was a about 15 min from where i live and just a try out over night, Brandon hooked me up with a traveler 1.7 DL,.only took 9 days to get here, stoked !! the set up took me 10 min to rig up and had no weight to carry, usually its a mission to haul my gear. the traveler took a while to sort but after reading up on the posts here kinda knew what to do, got it sorted had the foot end raised up a bit, i had some pinching at first but tried turning the hammock upside down and using it, you sure these things are`nt make in Australia.. seemed to be better lay once i did that, one thing was finding the sweet spot took me a while but as soon as i found it,it was gone again had to use the amenity's ha ha. but there`s a fine line to where you lye comfortably or not in this hammock, the funny thing is that i have a rope hammock, i bought it in bali its in my back yard use it in the summer just to chill. it never accrued to me to camp using a hammock and its all shuggggs fault !!!! and i tell ya love him for it. ha ha ha !!! now the only thing is to get my mates into it as well.... thanks for reading and have it good all!!!!!

Looks like a great place to hang! I would have had the tarp in porch mode to enjoy that lakeside view. Shouldn't be too hard to convince your buddies to hang once they see how comfortable you are. Best of luck in your adventures!

My great grand-parents came to the US from Norway, and I tell you seeing pictures like yours has it calling me back home... maybe the blood never forgets. Probably why I like the BWCA so much (Boundary Waters Canoe Area in northern Minnesota). Granite and pines like your photos.

I hope to be able to visit my ancestral homeland some day. Vaagaa on my father's side, and near Lillehammar on my mother's side.

How big is that tarp? It looks huge!

thanks for the reply's, yer im an Australian i moved here for my girlfriend i love it here a great place to be and i live in Oslo this place is not to far away its nice to live in a capital city with the forest so close, its called Sognsvann, the wind came up when i took the photos had the tarp open to the water..
