Is there a time limit on editing posts?

I have posted threads on other forums, that were intended to be regularly updated with information. I tried to do that here, and when I went back to add a link, the edit button was missing.

Is this time limit a feature that could be turned off?

    Thanks.

there is a point where you can't go back and edit but not sure when that is.

Posts can be edited for 3 days (72 hours) after they are made.

We actually (unfortunately) had problems with some members editing and removing their posts weeks after they were made, and thus creating holes in the threads where they posted. It made those threads difficult to follow.

For something like a static list in your linked thread I'd suggest starting a shared Google Docs spreadsheet. You can post a link to it in the thread.

If you want to create one, I'll be happy to edit it into the first post there for you.

This is actually the reason why I created the FL Hangers web page. I wanted one place to visit with all of the FL related stuff right there (no searching needed) that is updated on a fairly regular basis. The mods are great about making the occasional change to a post (they have done it for me many times) but I wanted something that could be changed on a regular basis and didn't want to bother them for that.

I was actually planning on adding a "sites" section to the FL Hangers page that does exactly what you are trying to do with your post (lists sites, reviews, directions, gps tracks/points, photos, contact information, etc). Are you interested in handling that portion of the web page? I would love to have a helper

Send me a pm if interested.
