I'll second the simplification of having someone help with the fitting - NCPatrick and I swapped fittings on our trip to LG and things went MUCH smoother and quicker.

    Smee and Blackbishop,

Thanks for the input. I'll check my clearances with a partner and see how I stacked up. I think I was pretty close but I'll tweak a bit... It's important for me to know how to maximize the performance of my gear and then understand where the edges of said performance are. Hence all the testing and questions.

BTW, I wasn't COLD, just chilly; I think the Nest performed very well. I was probably a bit outside its temperature range for toasty comfort!

I am going to try the SS with the Nest outside of it. More to come....

    Best,
    Skeenut

I think you will find that you will gain what you need by adding the ss. set the hammock up first, then the ss and nest last. way better than a pad and no condensation issue.

I can get into the 30s with the Nest. Any lower than that and I'll need something else...like putting the NS+Nest on bottom and using another bag on top.

Check here for some info on installing/adjusting/using the JRBs...

And here's a blurb on adjusting it.
