I love when the air turns crisp. Being highly allergic to bee stings I find myself enjoying being in the woods more.

I'm still waiting on an explanation of shoulder season and the genesis of the term. Is it some kind of local term? It just doesn't make any sense to me.

I think it is the period betwen high and low travel seasons. May be specific to the travel industry or to a high tourist area.

Ok, I just had to google it......shoulder season, the time between high and low peak travel seasons, usually the spring and fall, lower fares, etc. No one is travelling to SW Oklahoma, 3 days ago 108 degrees, then cold front with no rain, today was high 90s.

I agree. It's always seemed the oddest of terms. Whose shoulder? Is it really rotator cuff season? Or is shoulder steak involved? Strange.

Mosquitos still like packs of ravenous rabid zombie wolves.

Bug net stays on all year. We can get a day when it hits 60 in Dec or Jan and the bugs come out en masse.

I think it makes sense the same way shoulder of the road makes sense.
