I don't know. I had seen that people used the hiking poles as supports, I didn't think of tying to them, I saw the points would fit in the triangle tie offs, so that's where I put them.

You could for-go the continual ridgeline and just go with lines straight off of the tarp ridge ends. Nice tight ridgeline that way.
I did some hammock/tarp info videos and you can see some tarp ideas on PARTS 5-9. Maybe get some ideas.......http://www.hammockforums.net/forum/s...ad.php?t=15516

Just use the ridge line tie outs on your tarp and tie directly to the trees. A lot of plp love the continuous tarp RL but I feel that I can get my tarp set up tighter by just using the standard ridge line ties that come with the Hennessy hex tarps.
    Happy hanging.

I hang the same tarp...and agree with Shug and Spaceweasel. I don't use a seperate ridgeline for my tarp...I simply tie off the ends of the tarp seperately to each treee. Personally I use the plastic Fig 9s to adjust and tension...others have had issues with those failing, and recommend the metal ones, or dutch gear.

Anytime you put it in "porch mode" with your walking sticks, you're likely to have a little sag thrown in there. Don't sweat that...worry about the sag when you've got the sides pulled down to keep the rain out.

A lot of the slack in the tarp can be caused by the angle of your corner tie outs.
Just play with the angle and you will get the hang of it in no time.

With a CRL, that's actually pretty normal for the Hennessy Hex. I never did get mine too much tighter than what you've got in that photo. Which is okay; the coverage on that tarp is incredible and will keep you dry in absolutely pouring rain. Even when the wind blows.

It just winds up looking a little floppy, is all, in my experience.
