1.9 ripstop - how much will it hold?

I have some 1.9 ripstop and am thinking about making a double hammock which could be used as a loaner. How much weight do you think this would safely hold with whoppies as the suspension?

It's not specifically 1.9 but I think it could give you some guidelines as to weight management: http://www.warbonnetoutdoors.com/hammocks101.php

buttinasling hammocks rates their 1.9 - 11' x 58" hammock at 300 lbs. if that will help you.

Thanks all. It looks like if I made a DL 1.9 oz. hammock it would be heavy, but would safely hold up to at least 400 lbs.

You mention whoopies... that's part of the equation. What are they made of? If 7/64 AmSteel is the answer, you'll be good to well over 500 lbs. It's rated quite a bit higher, but loses some strength in the splicing.

I don't have them yet, so I'll make sure they meet that specification. Thanks. I really don't want to have a friend drop.

I made a double layer 1.9 for a friend who is right at 300lbs and it holds him fine. Also I would trust the whoopie slings to hold him but he wasn't convinced so I used webbing & cinch buckles for his suspension.
