You're welcome. If you're buying, I recommend spending $4 on a loop turner from Joann's or some other fabric store. It's a little easier, but the wire works fine too.

With much pride, I can now say, "I got it!" Now I just need to get my amsteel marked with all those entry and exit points so it turns out to be a whoopie sling. Last night, I was splicing and locking brummels on techline, so I think the amsteel will be easier.
ah...satisfaction
Good job! Now that you've got it, you will have that skill forever! (to me, thats the pay off for doing DIY---you pay your dues, climb the learning curve, and in the end you have the finished product, and the skill/know how to make more---its a pretty good deal!)
FYI: If you want to know what type a certain bear is, sneak up behind it and kick it. Then,
run like crazy and climb up a tree. If the bear climbs the tree and eats you, it's a black
bear. If the bear just pushes the tree over and eats you, it's a grizzly bear : )
Do not walk behind me, for I may not lead. Do not walk ahead of me, for I may not follow. Do not walk beside me, either, just leave me alone.

Congrats Michelle! If you can splice tech line, you can splice anything!

Aw, shucks...so sweet
HF has been so wonderful as I have started down the path as a hammock camper and DIY gear maker! Thanks to all !!
Good job, Michelle! Your persistence was the key and should be emulated. Like you, and probably many others here, my first attempt at splicing whoopies wasn't successful either. But, as Stevebo, pointed out, once you overcome that learning curve you have a lifetime skill. Again, congrats & good job!
Looks like Michelle and I don't get to make whoopie (slings) after all............................................... .....(sigh)....................................... ..................................(cricket chirps)........................................... ...........so lonely............................................ ..............
LOL
Great job Michelle.
Looking forward to seeing everyone tomorow.
