the edge door kit and other options?

    Hey all
Ive been useing the edge tarp for 2 seasons now ,and really like it. Been looking at the door kit brandon makes. Ive also been eyeballing a superfly. The superfly is bigger and weighs a bit more then the edge. with the door kit im guessing 17oz and the advertised superfly is 19oz .. big deal 2oz.

But i guess what im asking ? do you guys think, beings the door kit is cheaper. The edge tarp with doors will perform as well as the superfly ? offcourse minus some room ? Not sure which way to go . one all season tarp with door kit ,or just get a superfly and have an extra tarp?

I've personally always been turned off by the idea of detachable doors. It's one more thing to fiddle with, and IMHO not worth the effort. I'd rather pay a little more money and just have completely separate tarps - that way you've got an extra in case you need to loan one to a ground-dwelling friend, or set up over a table in a car camping spot.

If money is not an issue, I'd say get the superfly and have 2 tarps.
If you ain't havin' fun, you're doin' it wrong

The superfly is well worth the extra money.
Check with Brandon because sometimes he has blems, ( just cosmetic) that you can get to save some cash.

A whilst back I made a tarp that is the same in size as the Edge. Added some grosgain tabs to the bottom hem about 20 inches in or so and can use those to block the ends in unsavory weather. Usually just do one end (foot end) and have it more open on the hammock head end. Works nicely. Cozy, dry and blocks the wind.
