Underground Quilts UQ vs Hammock Gear UQ

I'm ready to get a 20 degree underquilt and have narrowed my choice to either the Underground Quilts Zeppelin or the Hammock Gear Incubator.

I like the sound of the Resist down with the Zeppelin and as far as I can understand the suspension is quite simple. I have also heard good things about the Incubator although I am a little confused by the suspension system which includes primary and secondary suspensions (but maybe its less complicated than it sounds). In terms of size and weight both UQ's are very similar.

One of my main concerns is that it is easy to use and adjust. I'm not great at figuring these kinds of thing out and want to spend my time doing other things rather than fiddling around getting my UQ right.

Does anyone have experience with both of these UQ's? What comments does anyone have about the ease of use or other aspects that could help me with the tie break?

I appreciate anything that you are able to let me know.

I will preface this with the fact that I already own 2 TQ from UGQ....
Paul is awesome to work with! He goes out of his way to make sure you are getting exactly what you want (phone calls/email). I just received my 20* 3/4 Zeppelin with the hydrophobic down yesterday and I am throughly impressed with the craftmanship. I never had a problem with any of Paul's work. I have seen many of the quilts that he has made and are in use out in the woods, I have never heard a complaint from anyone. Not trying to slam anyone else, its just my preference to work with Paul and the constant innovation that he brings to the table. There have been 2 upgrads to the the TQ line since I purchased my first one.

    LFCRed,

I wish I could speak to both Hammock Gear and UGQ quilts but I can not. My first and only UQ is a UGQ Zeppelin and I can speak to its ease of use. I had never used a UQ (only a HHSS) and it went on really fast and was super easy to adjust. So as to ease of use and adjustment UGQ is a thumbs up.

Wish I could speak for the Hammock Gear guys too sorry.

One vs. the other always makes me a little nervous, because like most things in life there are advantages and disadvantages to alternatives. I don't think you can go wrong with either. These fine folks pay close attention to detail and as part of our HF community they will readily address any concerns you may have.

I have seen both products and own a 20 degree phoenix. I think the most important thing is to ascertain what you need and which best fits your needs. Ultimately, it is mostly up to each of us to make appropriate decisions as to what to buy based on our needs more than which craftsman has the best product. When we do a good job of discerning, we make good decisions.

I have one of each (HG TQ & UGQG UQ). Craftsmanship is great on both. I look at features and cost. I'll probably order from Paul again in that regard. Hes the better value last time I checked prices. Both are great products.

I understand this, but, you cannot compare prices of a "3/4 length" UQ to a "Full Length" UQ, my point that I was making is the prices are almost identical!

The OP stated that he (or she) wanted Either the Zeppelin or the Incubator, which isn't a fair comparison as they are two completely different sized quilts!

As I said I was pointing out the "comparable" prices.

I recently bought an Incubator. Workmanship is about flawless. Adjustment was quick & easy on my 11' BIAS. TQ is from Underground. Flawless likewise.
Both are easy to work with and quality people. Don't see that you could go wrong either way.
