    Question Yeti/Black Mamba

I am looking for an UQ/OQ set up and I am looking real hard at the warbonnet outdoors setup. I just have one question because up to this point, I have only dealt with pads and sleeping bags, and have no experience with down. I will be hanging mostly on the Florida Trail, Providence Canyon, and Pine Mountain in GA, and the GA end of the AT less often. The lowest temps I will be dealing with will be around 30 degrees. Am I correct in assuming that I will only need to get a 3 season setup rather than a winter setup because the winter setup is for blistering cold temperatures? Thank you in advance for answers.

If your lowest temps will be 30 then you'll probably be ok. That's right around the point where it depends, ( for some folks ), on whether your a warm or cold sleeper. I find in my yeti3 i don't get cold but sometimes feel a little cool early in the morning,,,but that's with just boxers and a t-shirt and socks.

Depending on your clothing layers and any other insulating-like factors like a sock and how low to the ground you pitch your tarp, yes the 3-season should fit your needs. There's only one way to find out though and that's to buy David's Yeti for $130. That is a steal!

3 season should be fine. I've gotten my yeti and mamba down to 24*F. Got chilly past 28*F but there's ways around that by going to sleep with a hot water bottle and making sure you eat a good filling high fat content meal before bed.

I've gone down comfortably to about 22F with my Yeti and Mamba wearing my polyester base layer.

In my experience a good three season kit is what is required in the south. Plan for temps to be in the mid 20's when selecting your quilts. I use Warbonnet quilts and they work down to those temps if you are using them correctly.
