I use 2.2mm Lash-It spliced to Dutch Stingerz as independent end tie-outs on my tarp ridge line, but when I just want to rig a quick, simple, expedient continuous ridge line, I just grab some handy 550 paracord and string up a trucker's hitch taut line with a couple of Prussik loops; so far it has never NOT worked...

(FWIW for guy lines I always use some sort of shock cord in-line, usually a 6' length of 100-pound test 2mm utility cord with a 14" section of 1/8" shock cord in tandem... Shug shows how to do this with Speer No-Tangle Line in one of his tarp tutorial videos...)

I used gray 2.2mm Lash-It spliced to a Dutch Hook on one end and a Wasp threaded on the other, with Gray 1.75mm Soft Shackles looped on with Prusik knots. It's pretty much the same as the Continuous Ridgeline that Dutch sells but in 2.2mm instead of 1.75mm. The Hook and Wasp tend to grab on tightly to the 2.2mm but so far the Lash-It has held up well without any significant wear. I'd probably go 1.75mm next time but 2.2mm is what I had at the time.

Ditch the grip hitches and use a tiny Loop Alien. Foolproof and certain.

I use zing-it as tarp ridgeline when I need to dry my clothes under the tarp. Otherwise I don't use any ridgeline at all.

I used paracord initially. But I realized that it was bulky, somewhat heavy and tends to retain water.
Also, Zing-it is easy to work with and splice--I've made continuous loops for every use I can think of.
And I've swapped out heavier cord and shock cord (which can be dangerous to cuben fiber) with it wherever possible.

True, but for tarps & guylines, one could use lighter, thinner, and less-absorbent 325 paracord. Fairly easy to find, even in stores. Holds knots better than braided mason line (and maybe some other slippery stuff) and does not fray nearly as easily. Reasonably cheap in handy 50-ft hanks, about $0.10/ft. Not sure about bulk pricing, but a couple of those will do for a tarp setup. A third could be used for PCT style food-bag hanging.

i'm using 1.8mm Reflect IT. With a hook, Wasp, and a couple TATO's.
