    Getting high in a hammock?

Does anyone hang way up in the tree? Seems if a guy was on the road, being able to get up in the trees for cover might help keep from getting messed with. Ive seen a few trees around here where the side branches are large enough to walk out on and the trees are close enough together.???Rock a by baby in the tree tops...

I know I have seen a post where a guy hung like 15ft up. The general rule of thumb is don't hang any higher than you are willing to fall. I like to be able to get to my feet quickly if need be but don't spend alot of time frettin that I might need to.

Check out Ed Speer's hammock camping book - he describes hanging above the grizzlies while on an island.

There was an article posted here about 2 guys living in central park in hammocks up in the trees.

They picked large trees, and tied the hammock to two side branches of the same tree so that they were hidden within the canopy.
    Sounded pretty cool.

If you play a Muddy Waters blues lick between those lines it sounds pretty cool

None of the videos show how the heck you get into and out of the hammock!

Sometime last year a guy posted about how he was living in the woods during a time of economic distress and was hanging hgh in the trees as a safety measure. He woke up in a the hospital after being in a coma for a month or so. He'd fallen out one night, played plinko with the branches on the way down and laid there unconcsious for at least a day until a friend who had agreed to come chek up on him stopped by.

There was another guy who talked about a trip he was planning to hang in the high limbs during winter. He posted pics when he got back and said he was going to do it again.

I don't think he's posted anything after that.
