i got some real choice sites. i need to call back over there to verify some things. i gave a ranger our "reference" he said that was more than enough. and said hammocks where fine. most of the trees are long needle pines. so extra vigilance when choosing a hang is needed. pine branches are easy to break in gusts of wind. i may go back again and just double check and look around.

i couldn't really get out of my truck to walk around. i was pretty much exhausted by the time i got to go tree counting. doing mostly anything requires at least a thirty minute nap before doing other things. so enough of me whining

gresh you can go if you want, but you may be needing to get your own site

i need a back brace, but my road rash prevents me from wearing one. so my recovery time for my back injury is going to take longer than usual.

A lady from Sesqui called me back and said we could stay in the group area. She said if we want to use the showers, we would need to pay the regular site rate. I mentioned that I had wondered if we could do a donation like that or something in order to use them since the first time we had spoken she said they wouldn't be available. Ahhgladius offered to go back out and check out the group area for us. I was hoping to hear back from Dreher Island through another contact, but as of yet, I have not. I was able to look at pics of individual sites on the Dreher Island website, but the maximum on each site is 6, so we would be looking at probably at least 2 sites of $21 each night. (Dreher Island would not allow us to use the group area.) Sesqui sites are $19 per night and I guess we would just pay that rate for the group area. If the group area has enough "hammock friendly" trees, I think this would be a good option as we could have our own area and have available showers. What are other's opinions??

Sesqui sounds like it's probably the better option vs trying to get adjacent sites at Dreher Island w/ the right trees, etc. Am I understanding this correctly?...at Sesqui we could stay in the group area, but pay the "regular" prices of $19/night for the whole group area & have shower access in the regular campground?
