I think it has a pit toilet it was but it was modern and clean and not smelly. It wasn't one of those that mean you have to brace yourself before entering.

I was checking out the website. It looks really peaceful and quiet. The river would be nice for kayaking, plus for those without boats, they have rentals for reasonable rates. It looks like a fairly secluded area. How far is it to any form of civilization, such as a convenience store or fast food place? The website said 16 miles to a grocery, but I'm guessing there might be somewhere small closer by??

I understand that.. I'd rather be in the hills or mountains, too, but I was trying to keep it somewhat centrally located. Not sure that Dreher Island or Sesquicentennial are very hilly, but they are mid-state....I've not been to either.

I'll try to call tomorrow and ask about bathrooms and the possibility of using showers at both Dreher Island and Sesquicentennial parks. The both look like nice parks and since it is the off season, hopefully they won't mind if we use the showers. If anyone knows of any other places that might be available, please speak up! There are a few fish camp type places around the midlands, but not sure that is appealing to everyone.
