Video of a guy kayaking his way up Canada's west coast

Wasn't quite sure where to post this: I stumbled across this video on youtube of a guy kayaking along Canada's west coast, using a hammock for sleep. It's kind of a trip report, but it's not my trip report, so I didn't think it belonged there.

It's pretty long, but he seems a good-natured guy and I enjoyed watching it all a lot!

Sorry if it's been posted before - a search brought nothing.

Saw this last year on the paddling site i'm on, www.westcoastpaddler.com , Might be time to watch it again. pretty good fella who got some trail magic along the way.
Nobody should get the idea that the west coast of BC is a beginners solo trip. Altho there are areas suitable for beginners and intermediate paddlers it can also be quite challenging and paddlers die every year on the west coast. Its one of the few places left in NA that still has pristine untouched coastline.

That is awesome... only got 5 minutes in but will try and watch more in bits and pieces. Would love to do a trip like that!

Little OT but mbiraman... do you know of any good paddling sites aside from the west coast? Or is that site open to non left coasters?

The other site i spend a bit of time on is MYCCR. Based in Ontario, mostly canoeists. Most folks on it are ontario based. Some kayakers on the site .very informative site.
Westcoastpaddler is open to anyone who wants to hang out. There are a few folks on the right coast and middle of the country. There's lots of valuable info whether you can get to the coast or not. I'm in the interior of BC and its been very good for me. I use to camp on the coast many years ago so know the area and hope to get back and paddle some of the areas as soon as i win the lottery to pay for the gas and ferry costs which are crazy.
    hope this helps

He really did, didn't he! I like how it wasn't lost on him too, he showed an almost boyish appreciation of it.

I also got a number of thoughts on this now.. not a kayaker, it definitely looked like something up my alley. Close at hand for me would be to paddle along the Swedish coast, known back home as the "Seakayaker's Blue Ribbon". Might start off with something a little simpler though

There's a fella from Austria who flies over every year to do a trip on the BC coast. He's on westcoastpaddlers, has a Featherlite kayak, and goes on about a one week to two wk trip. I know there's allot of paddling around the islands of of Stockholm but don't know much other than that. I'm sure that A UK paddling site would have allot of info.
