    Tarp Side Tie-Outs?

So I just purchased a Hennessy Hex tarp in the 70D Polyester. It looks like a fantastic tarp and should do what I need it to do.

The one modification I'd like to make to it is to add some side tie-outs to make use of the tarps size and give me extra room to move about.

What is the recommended DIY way of going about this? Does someone manufacture side tie outs that I can easily add? I should mention that I do not have access to a thread injector.

I saw one guy on YouTube who had the ingenious idea of using contact lens cases as tie-outs. He drilled a hole in one side, slipped his cord through and knotted it. He then placed the two sides of the case on either side of the tarp and screwed them together. While I admire the DIY ingenuity, I'm looking for something a little more robust, and with less chance of damaging my tarp.

    Any suggestions?

    Well,

Looks like I should have done a couple more minutes of searching before I posted.

A little bit more research turns up the Grip Clips and Dutch's side pull outs.

Think I'm going to give the grip clips a shot.

    How about these

If you want something temporary to try it out maybe you can pick up a set of grip clips. For a permanent solution there are several cottage vendors here that will mod your tarp for a nominal fee.

Here's another option. I'm not seeing to many options that don't require some amount of sewing. I've heard you can get the patch made then glue it in place with silicone. I've never tried it and my "search fu" must be weak this evening.
