Thought I'd share my Hammock suspension with you for comment "good or bad"

I have played with quite a few setups now and have a loft full of gear, This is my current setup that i'm using to hang my Hammock, seems to work and is now well tested.

    Basically it is a follows,

1" x 3' tree huggers with a marlin spike hitch and Toggle direct to a whoopie sling (or if distance requires it adding flat green rope as shown in photos)

Then a larks head knot to attach the whoopie to the hammock gather rope (itself tied with Lanyard knots),

At home my hammock quickly attaches to my stand using soft shackles

My hammock is a Tenth Wonder XL (of which I have two), also I have a standard one for my hammock stand due to the stands maximum span width,

Using skills learnt from here and other forums I made the Toggles, soft shackles and whoopie slings, also had fun tying the knots (some frustrations throughout ..lol),

What I'm after is a few general comments, especially on anything you feel could be improved upon.

    Thanks Jeff

Nice! I love the creativity found on HF. Every time I think that has to be it someone show something new I haven't seen. I like your flat rope as needed idea very much.

    Another great variation.

That looks pretty simple and yet flexible!

I've been playing with a few suspension setups myself, looking to drop a gram here & there. Some got rather fiddly and I have recently gone back toward simple.

Thanks for taking the time to post.

I do something similar. I use what I call a button suspension, a slight take off of Grizzz's HFDHS. All of my connections use a diamond knot or a double diamond knot. My whoopies attach to the huggers this way. I made a 5 foot extender. One side has a double diamond knot, the other side has a spliced fixed eye. If I need a little more rope, I just remove the whoopie from the hugger and place the fixed eye to the button on the hugger. I then place the whoopie on the button of the extender. Or since it's all buttons, I could place the extender between the whoopie and the hammock button.
