Hey guys, new to the forum and first question. I know this has probably been discussed but for the life of me I cant find where. Thinking about going to a single-line setup; but I was wondering if instead of attaching the hammock to the rope using metal rings and the clove hitch, would it be possible to just use two prusik knots, one at each end of the hammock? Seems it would eliminate any hardware, and be easily adjustable.
Also, if this is possible, or if someone already does it, what would be a good mainline to use? Would the prusiks hold on Amsteel? If they would, thinking you could have a UCR type knot between the hammock and the tree on one side and you would have the lightest, most easily adjustable setup possible with only one line and no hardware to mess with.
thanks to everyone,
BP
