I'd like to see this illustrated Dejoha style.

I second this. I actually find his illustrations very concise and make thing easier to understand.

    Buried loops! Those look great.
I've got a test SLS system hanging in the workshop. I was trying to get whoopie hooks installed directly on the main line, but found that the hooks cut into the amsteel. Too much sideways force on them.
Now I gotta try this again using buried loops to hold the whoopie hooks.

Sorry about the dejoha type illustration or video. Computer skills are not at the level. I'll try to draw up an illustration of the system. Believe that I can get past scanning a drawing and getting it posted.

Poppa, I do believe there will be lots of uses for the buried loops.

Going to give this a try. Sure that there is another way to do this, just went with what I knew.

Thanks for posting the pic with measurements OldDog, saves me some tinkering time.

Haven't started playing yet but.... some things that are still running around in my head with this SLS...

Setup with tarp NOT deployed? Just hammock and tarp still rolled. The loops for the hammock are under the tarp ....?

Setup with a different tarp ridgeline length? Just use a dedicated SLS per tarp or use something with adjustable loops to center the tarp over the hammock?

Personally I will most likely have one or two 'carabiner' for clipping the hammock to the loops. Both to act as a drip ring and to quickly attach and detach my backpack for example while all is setup.... Although I am rethinking that with some dripstrings and one S biner (probably lighter and gives me that ease of putting my backpack at the foot/head end of the hammock..
