    Buried loops in amsteel

Don't recall ever seeing this before. While playing with my single line suspension I was having trouble with the prussiks for the tarp slipping and was looking for another way to attach the tarp to the SLS. Had a double loop dogbone of 7/64" amsteel laying around from a mini spreader bar experiment. I cut it in half and using my folded wire tool just pulled the tail of the loop into the 1/8" amsteel SLS. Did some pulling and tugging with no slippage so made a second set to attach my hammock to the SLS. Was leary at first but they supported my 220# with no failure, yet. Plans now to install 2 more in the SLS for a small gear hammock at the foot end.

Got a feeling that this may have many other uses.

Is this a locked brummel that you have the standing end buried into your SLS? How deep is the bury? Just to clarify... are you usin these as fixed points to hang your hammock or just as a connection point for your tarp?

Didn't lock the loop, just pulled one end inside with 4" to 5" of bury and then pulled all of the loops tail into the outer amsteel. Using 2 sets, one for the hammock the second for the tarp. With the tension on my SLS they haven't moved at all. Did have a thought about some lock stitches through all layers of the amsteel just to keep them in place when not under tension.
