Welcome from another Michiganian, where the trees are just the right height.

Welcome aboard. Like Bloomgorge posted, everybody is welcome. You'll get a good peak at a lot of different set-ups.

Thank you for the warm welcome everyone and the great advice. I am going car camping next weekend, and I am going to try to rig up one of my tent rain tarps for a tarp... I do have a blue tarp too, but hate the crinkle sound. I also am trying to figure out the best way to stay warm. I have spent my gear budget for the year. So an under quilt is out. I am working on setting up a rig with a spare sleeping bag that is like an underquilt. Only thing is I can't really permanently alter it, I take to many people on trips with me who don't own their own gear. And the other thing is I am an apartment dweller and don't have a backyard. I do go to parks nearby and set my hammock up for an hour or so to try different things. Oh by the way I am trying to get off work for the fall hang.

There should be plenty of extra gear also. I'll have an extra UQ and tarp with me so don't worry about not having enough stuff. I'm sure others will too.
