ah, i see, not the traditional mummy bag, velcro that short shouldn't be too bad.
Thanks, went with your suggestion. scraping the velcro (as others said, its a long run) im going to make it a quilt only. im cutting it down from 66" in wide to 54". when i cut the baffles , should i push the down in (6" either side) before i hem? i dont think that would over fill it?
just waiting on sewing machine right now.

Shake the down away from where the seam will be. _sew first_ then cut. Saves chasing down blips all over the house.

I weigh 165# with a 41in chest, using Ray Jardine's formula I arrived at a 48in quilt width, and that's for ground sleeping. Unless you were a big guy 44 would likely be wide enough for a hammock but I'd make it wide enough to use on the ground...if I really had to.
