    Fair enough.
I'll make the call in a bit. I'm listening to our coders have an incredibly boring conference call at the moment.

They usually leave one of the two open. I think maybe they use it for a pit stop when they're out on patrol. That's my best guess anyway. As for asking, in the past I've always been told "no water, no facilitates". Yet, there is always one open so......

Just spoke with them, but it appears someone else has already initiated contact with them via email. The Ranger I spoke with said the email had been forwarded to her supervisor, so I guess we will just hold for whoever sent the email to get a response.

Just my 2 cents worth: No need to go digging any slit trench latrines. A 5 gal. bucket with a toilet seat on it is an alternative. A latrine can be constructed by tieing a rope to a tree at an angle to the ground with a tarp over it. after your "deposit" is made in the bucket, cover it with pine needles or other duff scraped up off the ground. After the event a hole can be dug for disposal of the bucket contents. That's how I've done it for years of car camping. I can bring "the makings" for this latrine, and am leaning heavily on attending. Just say where.

Yeah that was me - I used a form on the website, and given that I didn't get so much as a confirmation response, I assumed that my message had been swallowed up by a black hole in the nether depths of the intertubes. We'll see if I hear anything back. We need to get this figured ASAP.

I gave up on emails to these types of folks. Often easier to just have a casual conversation with whomever answers the phone. It amuses me how much authority people relinquish when dealing with written requests. It's almost like they get scared and just start pushing things up the ladder so someone else can make the call. OTOH, talk to them in person and they are quite comfortable with their authority.

Still, an email followed by a phone call should get a response since they know we are waiting.

Yeah, that was my mistake to try to use the email - I couldn't sneak out of the office to make a phone call and was starting to feel the pressure to get the location locked down.

I have a voicemail in to the guy who should be able to make the decision, but haven't heard back yet.

I just got a call back - the bathrooms sound like they will be locked, but we DO have permission to use Burning Bear, so we are on!

Mods, is it possible to change the actual title of the thread (not the first post, which I've already changed), to reflect the new location??
