Looks like an awesome trip but why would it be considered a world record? Freya Hoffmeister, for one, has circumnavigated Australia which is between 9000 and 10,000 miles. This trip is about 4000 miles.

I suppose the record for a River paddle is the goal; from the source: "Helen Skelton holds the current record: Longest solo journey by canoe (kayak), 2010 miles, Amazon River.

I am going to attempt the longest distance paddled in 24 hours (male paddler) as well however, the primary record is the longest solo journey".

And she's now doing South America.

All the "record" stuff aside, I am anxious to follow this adventure. What a great opportunity to experience the United States from the water. I hope the venture is well documented. Keep us posted, and what a great group of sponsors. I am impressed.
