I read that Andrew Skurka uses it as a tooth paste to save weight.

That's right! The Missus did say something about Burts Bees! Then, of course, I foolishly said, "Why doesn't anybody buy Ernie's Bees?" and she became noticeably less helpful from there on out. Strange lady-factoid #457--ladies love to talk about skin care products... Sesame Street characters... not so much
You're gonna need a bigger hammock

    hahaha
Hammocking, car camping, backpacking, kayaking, and mountain biking. Getting in touch with nature is getting expensive. Good thing I can DIY!

Ya know ... I have encounter some "campers" in the woods before that a good squirt of Dr. Bonner's Peppermint to their pack as you walk by them might just do the world some good ... just saying

The best place for all natural products/toiletries, all eco friendly and great for the trail is:
    www.vitacost.com

It's a flat $5 shipping free, unless there's a coupon making it free. Dr Bronner's is very expensive at retail, and whilst I like supporting local stores, I can't ignore the savings.

You can try all the fragrances , by buying the small 2oz bottles for less than $2 a piece.

Who cares about showers, gourmet food, using flush toilets. Just keep on walking and being away from it all.

ahem.... be _very_ careful with Dr. Bronner's, especially the peppermint castile. I am not sure about the others. But the Peppermint castile has/had a fairly high content of hemp oil. The electronic sniffers they have for drug interdiction are incapable of distinguishing hemp oil residue from other forms of hemp derived residue. I know this for a fact as I used volunteer in the Federal Prison system through the Chaplain's office. I saw more than one volunteer denied entry due to cosmetics with a hemp oil content. Now that sniffers are used in some TSA interdiction systems one would not want their soap to cause problems. I love the stuff. But I couldn't use it will doing the volunteer work.
I may be slow... But I sure am gimpy.

You may want to check out Wholefoods. Up here they carry Dr. Bronner.
