UQ Question/Idea

I had a thought about making a nylon sleeve to put a down sleeping bag into and then hang under the hammock as a UQ.

Would this work as well as an regular style UQ?

Any issues I am not thinking of to make this work?

Totally new to this Hangin' Thing, but lovin' it so far!

It should work if you suspended the bag like an under quilt. Otherwise, the bag is going to bunch up at the bottom of the arch and move around.

as long as it doesn't compress the sleeping bag in the sleeve. you would probably be better on not putting in a sleeve and just hanging it.

I agree you'd be better off to just hang the sleeping bag. The insulation has to be held tight to the hammock without gaps and without compressing the insulation.

i second what snrmoment says. as long as you attach some snaps to your down bag, and onto your sleeve, you will keep your bag from bunching up.

Whatever you end up doing, document it and have lots of pictures posted, so others can copy your idea...I mean endorse when i say copy.
