thank you too bubba
If you decide to change or add a new video about the use of the amsteel huggers, there's one approach that was discussed in an older thread here.
It just takes a little bit of effort to use that method, and can make all the difference in potential damage to the tree.
That's not to say that using webbing isn't sending a better statement to land managers and the like. But it's a point of education you might can use for your customers.

It's all good. Again, my sincere apology. I can certainly understand your frustration. We all sort-of came out of the box biting and kicking for something we believe in. You had it coming in on your ebay account and youtube account and it couldn't have felt good. Thanks for stepping up too. That shows your character in true abundance

You could look at it this way; You now have a chance to add another product tor your eBay listings. Throw in a few 6' x 1" tree straps and your on your way to growing your eBay sales.

You could also consider what you are doing. The problem is load/unit area. Figure out the difference between the area of 1 in webbing and 7/64 amsteel and you will get the picture. In effect you are using piano wire to crush a very narrow band of cambium under the bark. That is what carries the sap. Maybe you are just impairing it and maybe you are closing it off until new growth covers it over. One cannot tell by looking at the out side bark. Either way it is not good for the tree.

Did some of us feel guilty concerning our approach to "educate" and remove their posts from his YouTube site?
bushcraftbasics, Welcome to Hammock Forums from Texas! It's a great place to learn and I've learned a lot from these folks.
BuschcraftBasics - This is a great response. If you hang around here long enough, you'll find that we're a pretty close community...and that we really value research, discussion, and making informed decisions. Sometimes when someone presents an option that may be irresponsible (or at least go against what we perceive as an informed decision), HF's members can get a little protective of our hobby and respond pretty aggressively. Ironic, since this hobby is all about being relaxed.
But please know that this aggression isn't the norm here, and does not represent the forum or its overall membership.
You've said you'll give some attention to this issue, and that's all we can ask. Hopefully we can all put this little spat behind us and start a mutually beneficial relationship.
Welcome to Hammock Forums.
