I know i've learned a lot from your vids, and even now as i've become more experienced, i find myself going back and watching your "noob" videos with a new perspective, and still find useful information in there. plus now with my attempt at going ultralight i've found a lot of inspiration in your videos, unfortunately my wallet isn't as inspired as my legs and back are from having to carry everything up and down the mountain!

Your money is well spent....could be spending on golf gear or khakis......

That is too funny. I was on a flight in the last year and a flight attendant actually asked me if I was formerly (think over-the-hill) a rock and roll star! Seriously. I did my fake British accent and played along. Sorta made my day in an odd way.

I have always liked camping or just being out in the bush somewhere.
It kills my back to sleep on the ground now and I have always liked the idea of a hammock. But since I found your videos its just a matter of time before I get one.
I have done my homework (watched all your videos) and decided to go with a Blackbird when I get the cash.

Congratulations Shug. Not surprised you're so popular and I too am a subscriber who is always looking for the next vid from the Shugmeister!

I am surprised however that no-one has mentioned the great music you add to your vids yet. I love it and it fits so well with your entertaining way of doing everything. To me, it's what I now call "Hammock Music" which I play when I'm hanging in the piney woods.

You discuss stuff like any of my mates would - in a down to earth way with added humour that just cracks me up. You keep it real and stay true to your own principles by not becoming a professional tester of stuff, and I like that a lot. Too many YT vids are of people bringing a pile of stuff out of a backpack or showing a pile of stuff on a tarp & it can be just plain boring to watch. You fly about on your unicycle & do backflips into a hammock while putting a jacket on at the same time & eat horrible stuff in a test of manhood with your mate Hickory - what's not to like about that??

Lovin' every minute of your craziness and will continue to watch, learn from you and laugh my *** off for as long as you keep putting vids out. You're a teacher, an entertainer, a showman and hugely funny Shug, wish there were more like ya in this world.

Well, it's not all hammocks. I found you while researching Linville Gorge, but during that research I was a tenter, by the time I made it to the gorge I was in a hammock. So shame on you, I was completely happy and geared up. Now you got me into gear I didnt even know existed, whoopies, UQ, TQ, dang it....ignorance WAS bliss...look at me now.
